Private Maternity Care

In conjunction with Kingston NHS Trust Main Maternity Unit

Kingston Hospital NHS Trust is delighted to be able to offer parents to be the option of a private maternity service. This service is provided by the Coombe Wing, the Trust’s private patient unit and the Main Maternity Unit.

Kingston Hospital NHS Trust is at the forefront in midwifery and obstetric care. Our purpose built maternity unit and neonatal unit opened in 1995 and we are renowned for our facilities and high standards of midwifery and medical care. A comprehensive obstetric service, including 24 hour resident cover by obstetricians, paediatricians, and anaesthetists is provided. We are one of the regional centres for neo natal units and have intensive care cots. In addition we have the support from Kingston General Hospital of a full range of general and medical services on site 24 hours a day, including an intensive care unit. We are committed to ensuring that the needs of mothers and their families are met at this special time.

All babies are delivered in the Main Maternity Unit. Private post natal care can be provided by either Coombe Wing or the Main Maternity Unit. Coombe Wing has first class accommodation, midwifery and nursing care and you are guaranteed a single private ensuite room. Visitors may visit at anytime during the day and evening. Transfer to Coombe Wing will depend on your and your baby’s clinical condition post delivery. Your consultant and the Coombe Wing midwife will assess your suitability for transfer and will advise you accordingly. At all times, your care and safety as a new mother and baby are paramount.

To ensure that you are aware of how much your stay will cost we have developed the following package prices, which includes delivery, midwifery and nursing care. The Consultant’s fees are not included in the package and will be charged separately.

Consultant Paediatricians offer a private new born check for your baby, which we can arrange for you.
