Consultants - Dr Tim Heymann MB BChir MA DRCOG MBA EBG FHEA FRCP
Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist
Dr Heymann has worked as a Consultant Physician and
Gastroenterologist since 1996. he graduated with distinction from
Cambridge University and trained in London teaching hospitals
including St. Thomas’s, the Brompton and the London. He is an examiner
for the Royal College of Physicians, University Reader at Imperial
College London and British Society of Gastroenterology committee
chairman.
His practice covers all aspects of gastrointestinal and liver
disease. Each year he performs about one thousand endoscopic
procedures including diagnostic, therapeutic and screening gastroscopy
and colonoscopy. He runs the local oesophageal physiology and capsule
endoscopy services, which he provides for neighbouring hospitals too.
Special interests:
- Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy
- Capsule endoscopy
- Common digestive problems such as reflux oesophagitis, peptic
ulcer disease, coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease and
functional bowel disturbances including irritable bowel syndrome
- Problems that affect the liver including viral hepatitis
(hepatitis B and hepatitis C), fatty liver disease and alcohol
related liver problems
