Year qualified: 1971

Dr Knowles qualified at Cambridge and University College Hospital, London. He undertook higher specialist training in London including the Royal Brompton Hospital where he completed his MD research into chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was appointed as Consultant in General/Respiratory Medicine at Kingston Hospital in June 1981 and continues in this post. He has wide ranging experience of respiratory disorders and is presently clinical lead for lung cancer and tuberculosis.
