Our philosophy is to ensure that every patient is given the highest
standard of personal medical, nursing, or midwifery care. This care is
delivered within a warm, friendly, clean and safe environment.
All of our physicians and surgeons hold consultant posts at
Kingston Hospital and cover a extensive range of specialities
including orthopaedics, general surgery, obstetrics and
gynaecology, urology, plastic and cosmetic surgery, and also
general medicine. They are supported by our committed team of
nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, administrators and hotel
services staff. Patients on Coombe Wing also have access to
specialist nurses, for example, stoma care, urology and
gynaecology. A wide variety of surgical procedures are
undertaken from varicose veins and hernias to major abdominal
surgery and highly specialist surgery such as hand and shoulder.
We also provide care for cancer patients including chemotherapy
and palliative care. Paediatric patients are cared for privately
on the Paediatric Unit. Patients can access the services of
Coombe Wing by a referral from their general practitioner to one
of our consultants. In addition, patients can inform staff they
would like to use the private facilities if they are admitted in
an emergency via the Accident & Emergency department or onto a
ward. We operate an urgent admission service for general
practitioners, which all local GP’s are aware of. Coombe Wing is
available to anyone who wishes to pay for their healthcare
privately either through personal or company medical insurance, or
by self funding. We have a fixed cost surgery scheme which has
been designed for people who do not have private medical insurance
and offer all-inclusive packages for a wide range of surgical
procedures.
